by Sidney Baker, MD and going along with this recent quote I just read by Marcus Aurelius “The whole universe is change and life itself is but what you deem it”  A common theme of mine.. the power of perception. It shapes your attitude, your future actions, your way of living.  The same situation…seen when in a good mood illicits drastically different responses than seen when in a bad one.  How come?  Why can’t we always be in a good mood or would we never know bad and have no comparison on what good really is without bad yet these are just words founded on morals developed over time, through the collective society’s eye.  What if there was no good or bad… if we could train our brains to simply collect the sensory data and not pass judgement.  A non-dualistic way of thinking.  Would it be boring? What is the purpose of life?     Happiness for ourselves, happiness for others, collective improvement?  Going going going…stop and smell the roses once in a while…

Happy 2009 family and friends.  What does the year have in store for you?  I love the new year, new begnining, despite being just another day January 1st gives us all a chance to rethink, refocus, rework our lives..it creates that excellent feeling of hope in our selves that we can accomplish anything but it fades so quick often, why is this?  We adapt, we get comfortable and then forget.  Thus my new years resolution….each month reevaluate and rewrite goals for the upcoming months.  Thus I will have 12 months of resolution, plus compete in a 1/2 ironman and never black out
