Do you see what you believe, or do you believe what you see?
by Sidney Baker, MD and going along with this recent quote I just read by Marcus Aurelius “The whole universe is change and life itself is but what you deem it” A common theme of mine.. the power of perception. It shapes your attitude, your future actions, your way of living. The same situation…seen when in a good mood illicits drastically different responses than seen when in a bad one. How come? Why can’t we always be in a good mood or would we never know bad and have no comparison on what good really is without bad yet these are just words founded on morals developed over time, through the collective society’s eye. What if there was no good or bad… if we could train our brains to simply collect the sensory data and not pass judgement. A non-dualistic way of thinking. Would it be boring? What is the purpose of life? :) Happiness for ourselves, happiness for others, collective improvement? Going going going…stop and smell the roses once in a while…
