Meng Tzu from the 3rd century bce… What does one do with their time? 24 hours in a day, 8 for sleep, on a good night, 8 for work, but here do those other 8 go?!?! If the brain could be trained to work 16 straight, would one, could one bust out 2-3 days a week of perhaps more efficient work, then spend the remaining 3-4 persuing hobbies and other endeavors?
Below is a video from the recent National Clean Energy Summit in DC. GO GREEN, good night, sleep tight!
As the site begins to change, I begin to change. We are all changing always. The question becomes then will you accept and embrace this change or will you fight it/resit it. When Dagny was down on the Audax last winter she played a great tape for Stevie, myself and her that talks about going with the flow, riding the current down the proverbial river vs struggling and fighting to go up and against it. When you find your mind racing as I often do… as difficult as it can be, try and remind yourself that “this too will pass.” Embracing, accepting, enjoying the reality of the moment is so easy to say, sometimes not as easy to practice, but we are creatures of habit and the more you practice, the easier it becomes and once the self feeding, positive reinforcement mechanisms take over what seemed so difficult yesterday becomes a walk in the park today. I wonder when this is going to happen in our economy!?!?!? Buy a house today, DO IT!!
Greetings folks. Spending some time with the beginings of a moderate redesign of the site last night I find myself refreshed and healthy this crisp, cold, sunny morning in Maine. Zen Mind, Beginners Mind is the book I read each morning after my 10 minutes of meditation.. it consists of 2-3 page life lessons founded in the Buddhist philosophy. Today the recurring theme of emptiness..keeping your mind free and detaching from the many thoughts, that come in and out of our mind. The purpose of this, contrary I think to many peoples belief is not to dull the senses and turn everything a shade of gray/nothingness, but rather to allow our minds to be present, accepting the reality of a situation and immersing ourselves in it completely.
Here is one reality I know for certain.
The shop pictured below in Salsalito, California, just over the golden gate bridge from San Fran has THE BEST COFFEE IN THE WORLD. Thanks honey for sending this photo!!!!
